“All About Abaca Exhibition”
Coming to the Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory & Educational Foundation is an exhibition of artists employing Abaca paper in their works. I was fortunate to have a residency at the Morgan where I witnessed the “couching” of this unique paper. Some of my intaglio and woodblock prints are part of this exhibition.
Abaca paper is made from the fibers of the abaca plant, also known as Manila hemp, which is native to the Philippines. It is known for its strength, durability, and wet strength, making it ideal for various applications like tea bags, filter paper, and artistic paper craft
