Two new limited edition intaglio works have been added this spring. A large format 34″ x 18: two plate etching titled “Stela by Starlight” was created involving a number of stepped etching applications. In addition, a custom cut chine collé piec of Kitikata was added to the oversized sheet of German Etching paper. The print is a play on words taken from the archaeological term for “historical marker or monument” known as a “stela”(or stelae). The globe shop on the stela was created but cutting and hand peeling the kitikata offering up a bright sun-like light source for the landscape.

The print is a continuation of exploration of recent discoveries by scientists almost daily surrounding our cosmos (accompanied by what seems to be a equally diminishing curiosity of these realities of these realities among some in our society.
